Domaine Maurice Charleux

The Domaine Maurice Charleux has been a family-run domain for four generations. Maurice Charleux and his son Vincent work with respect to the terroir and traditions. The domain extends onto just over 12 hectares. The vines are weeded with very little herbicide. Rigorous pruning and the practice of green harvesting allows them to limit the yield and pick only ripe grapes.

This work is followed by a meticulous vinification process with punching of the cap and pumping over followed by ageing in oak barrels with 15 to 20% new oak. The bottling takes place after 12 to 15 months. These practices make for the production of well-structured wines with subtle tannins and a beautiful robe as well as ensuring an ageing period of 8 to 15 years.
